Electric Service
City of Newark
A refundable deposit is required to open an electric account. For information on connection/disconnection of service, billing questions, or customer service inquiries, you may call Utility Billing at (302) 366-7085 between 8:30 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m. Electric service may also be initiated at https://payments.cityofnewarkde.us.
To report a power outage or emergency involving electric services call (302) 366-7050 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. After 5 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends and holidays, call (302) 366-7000 to report electric service emergencies.
(Electricity deposit for new account is $150.00; please check with the City to confirm current deposit amount as it is subject to change.)
Water & Sewer Service

For information on connection/disconnection of service, billing questions, or customer service inquiries, you may call Utility Billing at (302) 366-7085 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For water service problems first confirm that it is from the city’s supply, and not coming from your hot water heater. If it is the city’s supply, call the department at (302) 366-7055, and report it.
Water/sewer bills are in the landlords name and do not require transfer by the tenant. Bills are mailed monthly to the tenant’s residence from the City of Newark and are paid directly to the city by the tenant.

Refuse Collection
Onsite dumpsters are provided for tenant use only. Tenants are asked to place refuse inside the appropriate dumpster. Tenants are asked not to place furniture items in or around dumpsters. This service is covered by the tenants annual maintenance fee.
Security / Safety
All units are equipped with a security system. Monthly monitoring is optional and available for a fee.
All units have a sprinkler system, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
